而身為香港排名第一的香港大學，也于2017年下半年開設了MSc in Data Science專業，首批學生將于2018年秋季入學！此專業目前官網上并無太多信息，但從基本介紹來看，屬于數學與計算機相結合的數據類專業：
The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science and Department of Computer Science jointly offer a postgraduate curriculum leading to the degree of Master of Data Science, with two study modes: the one and a half academic years' full-time mode and the two and a half academic years' part-time mode. The curriculum is designed to provide graduates with training in the principles and practice of data science. Candidates should have knowledge of calculus and algebra, computer programming and introductory statistics.
通過學校官網介紹，我們可以看出這是香港大學統計精算學系與計算機學系共同開設的。授課內容也數據類相關。
申請要求上，學校對申請者要求需要修讀過微積分、線性代數、以及電腦編程課程。語言要求是雅思6.0分單科不低于5.5。
